Pedal Heights
My gas pedal is half way to the floor without me touching it. I can see there is like 2 inches of slack in the gas pedal cable. When I look under the air filter housing in the motor there is slack in the cable in there too (obviously). How do I get the slack out so it's tight and so my gas pedal is firm and higher?
Also is there a way to know if my brake pedal is too high? It seems too high to me, even if I hold the gas pedal higher with my hand. It feels like there is free play in it before the brakes engage also. So is there a simple way to adjust the pedal so it is lower and tighter???

Does the throttle open fully when you floor the gas peddle? The cable slips into a slot in the top of the peddle arm. There should be a spacer on the cable between the cable stop and the peddle arm. If it is missing your peddle will be to low and not open the throttle fully. If you want to raise the peddle an additional spacer could be added but if your throttle is now opening fully this will only add stress to the cable and throttle body.
The stops on the brake peddle are pretty hefty metal so I do not see how the peddle could be too high. There should be some slack before the brakes engage. If you have a solid hard brake when you step on the peddle your fine. If the peddle feels soft or spongy then the brakes may need to be bled. If you believe there is too much peddle travel before the brakes activate the rear shoes are adjustable if the auto adjusters are not working properly.
