Default LA to magnum exhaust manifolds?

I have a question for all you engine guru types.

I have a 1989 Dodge D150 with a completely factory original tbi 318 and A904 auto. I'm replacing the exhaust and I was curious if I could replace the stock manifolds with some 5.2 magnum manifolds and still hook up the Air pump/emissions equipment to keep it legal? If its an dumb question with an obvious answer I appologize in advance. Thanks guys!

I think only the 360 HD has AIR, just an FYI. I would just buy a pair of used headers instead of manifolds. If you do get your answer, I think the early 94/95 manifolds are better than the newer ones.

I need to keep it emissions legal thats why I'm not putting headers on it (its my daily driver). I need to replace the manifolds, but I'd rather upgrade than make the lateral move of replacing them with OE manifolds. I read the magnum style are among the best factory manifolds so I'm curious if I can direct swap them in place of the OE's and hook up the AIR pump, I'v never really exaimined a set so I dunno if thats feasable or not, Thanks though.

I have an 89 318 and my air pump has nothing to do with my exhaust manifolds. Adding headers does not effect the street legal aspect or emissions equipment. The only thing you need to do is keep the O2 sensor. No OE manifold is going to touch the performance gains from adding even cheap headers and headers will probably be cheaper anyway. If you have trouble finding O2 sensor ready headers a nipple can be added by any competent weld/machine shop.

Well I dunno about your engine, but on my 89 Ram, the AIR pump has 2 lines, line 1 off the air pump runs down the driver side of the motor, down the back and T's off and the 2 ends go directly to the back of the exhaust manifolds, the second line off the AIR pump goes to the cat. So my exhaust manifolds are tied to the AIR system. I don't feel like modifying headers to be smog legal, so I'm asking if the magnum manifolds will work properly with my emissions equipment?

Magnums do not have air injection.

The Heavy Duty Cycle 5.9 does but I don't think it draws air into the manifolds. Just the cats from what I see in the diagram.

I'd look around to see what kind of emissions legal heads you can find. I'm fairly sure I seen them on ebay.
