Default Column to floor shift?

Is there any kind of "kit" to convert a column auto selector to a floor selector?

I am considering this conversion also. I have not done any research yet, but was planning on just finding the shifter I like and then fabricate the floor mount myself. If there turns out to be a nice kit available I might consider it too.

I know they make them for the 727 transmissions, not sure about others.

the 727 and 904 is very similar...the case is different but I think very similar linkage wise.

I've searched a little but I can't find much.

What is the function of a shifter...if it was straight up from the floor it would just be all the way one way for park and down from there? that should be easy to engineer. some kind of bumpy lock with a spring holding the shifter in place...a stick, connector...seems easy enough... maybe if I have time when I do my work on Friday i can figure something out.

if you have a welder you could make you own but i don't know why you would want to do that. it would be like having a standard transmition. it would be a pain in the a%$ if you had to drive 2 other people somewhere.

well, and I e-mailed him and asked if they could build me a kit with a long shelaylee with a band over towards the driver and back straight again so that it couldn't be in the middle rider's crotch AND it would be easier for me to reach. I think if it came even with the bottom of the bench seat that would be almost perfect height and wouldn't be totally in the way.
