Help Needed! manual truck w/o powersteering, needs new steering box
1982 Dodge 1500 Ram
We have looked around and have found many with powersteering, one wrecking yard said they didn't make them w/o powersteering, well, what's in our carport? now we're thinking about converting over and not sure how easy this will be. The library is closed today.
Any ideas on how this will work out?

It's hard enough finding a first gen dodge truck in the wrecking yards up here, let alone one with a rare part. I'm with Casper, try a parts store. The Saginaw power steering box is about $250 plus another $150 or so in core, so perhaps you'd want to pick up what parts you could from a J.Y. for the conversion.
My buddy has a 73 w100 with manual steering and looking at the differences between his and my 86 he'd need the PS pump, resevior, gearbox, pitman arm, and drag link, plus the 3 hoses.

i would get one from autozone or something to. we had a 1992 for work and the factory power steering always went. went to Auto zone and hadnt had a problem since.
