Default Fuel sending unit/float replacement.

Hi all,
I pulled a '75 5.9l W200 out of a barn after it sat for 12 years with a half tank of gas. I removed the tank and pulled off the sending unit/float assembly and of course it was shot. The float and pickup tube actually disintegrated and turned into a sludge on the bottom of the tank.

So my question is, what other sending unit/float assembly can I use in this tank? Will anything from a dodge truck without a in-tank fuel pump work? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i think anything from a dodge truck without an electric fuel pump will work. i don't think the gas tanks ever changed much. i put a gas tank from a 86 into my 91.
