Anyone know how big of a tank an '88 D100 318 Auto has? I live in a metropolitan area so running it empty and refilling isn't an option.

it is hard to say exactly what size gas tank you have. these trucks came with a couple different sizes of gas tanks. there is the 21, 22 and 36 gallon gas tanks.

 

Wow, any reason for the different tank options?

 

the bigger tank is probably for the people that don't want to fill there tanks as often. i would like to get a 36 gallon tank for my truck but i'm not sure it would fit my shortbox. my dad had one in his old crew cab and was better for long trips. less stopping for gas.

 

Ok, so it was just a factory option. Looks like I'll be crawling under the truck and doing some measurments or running her dry.

you most likely have the 21 or 22. the 36 was the real option
