I couldn't tell, did you at least put some rust preventative paint on the "new" frame?
Great job.

even though the new frame is better than the old one you still shoulda tore it down when you had it like that and got it sand blasted and painted. that woulda made it mint, cuz the body looks great.

If it wasn't 20 degrees (or less) out, and this wasn't my daily driver; yes. The frame would have been blasted and coated, new lines, etc... but this was supposed to be a week long project.

Current things left to do:

Heater motor isn't coming on. Everything is wired, correct resistor... just not coming on.

Tail lights aren't wired yet

That's it!

My mechanic figured out the heater motor. I guess the 84 just used a switch to turn it on and off and the 88 had vacuum lines and such... he said he jumpered two wires together and now it works! haha

Tail lights are wired now as are the large backup lights.

All that's still left now is the bed mount and the radio! Radio is going to suck as the 84 had two cab harnesses both with half the radio wires... ugh. Gonna just run all new wires for that I guess.

Oh yes. It always takes longer then it should! My late brother in law used to say figure up the cost and the time to do a project and double both of them and you will be about right!

If you used the 250 suspension it will raise the body some too. I put 250 springs on the back of my ‘77W150 and it rides high behind now. I should cut the cast spacers under the springs off and level it.

Yah I used the entire D250 drivetrain/chassis/suspension setup. That, the new tires, and the new body bushings make it at least 2" taller.

stereos are easy to setup. i setup a delco stereo with an anti theft device on my old gt . now that was a bit of a challenge. this should help you wire the stereo http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/DCP-Wiring.pdf. i have used these to wire up my share of stereos.

Oh I've wired hundreds; I used to do car audio for a living.

This is going to be from scratch though. There are no radio wires at all.

I had an MGB that was positive ground (leave it to the brits to think of that). I had to electrically isolate the radios body and run the hot thru the ground lug and ground the radios hot wire.

Fords were positive ground until they went to 12 volt systems. 1955 I think.
