Ok I got sidetracked replacing power steering hose and a gasket for the coolant inlet. I actually called the guy I bought it from and told him about it. He is the one who installed the new engine and knows the thing inside and out. So he is bringing over a test light and is going to try and help me figure it out and fix it. I shall let you know how it goes.

Ok so I have not had time to deal with the light issues. I am going to tackle that on Sat with the help of the original owner. Here is what I found out so far. No blinkers front and back, no brake lights. But I do have reverse lights and when I turn the headlights on the taillights come on too, just no brake lights. So I guess they are getting power. I checked all the fuses and they were good and tried to look at wires under the dash but it was a jumbled mess so I couldn't really see anything. Anything else I can check out before i get a test light? Where are the grounds usually at on these things?

Have you checked the bulbs? The turn signals, 4 ways, and brake lights all use the same filament inside the bulbs. The parking lights use a different filament inside the bulbs. The backup lights are a different bulb all-together. It is not a bad ground because your parking lights work.

Seal,
I checked the rear bulbs and all of the filaments were fine. Kinda strange that half of it works. I am guessing there is a short somewhere along the line. All I can tell you is that the turn-signal lever is really really loose. You have to slightly pull it towards you to get it to engage the switch. I have not pulled the bulbs for the blinkers in the front yet, I am assuming that the filaments are prob good too.

Ah Ha I fixed it. Kinda weird though. It never had a flasher for the hazard lights on it. At least not when I was test driving it and the brake and turn signals worked. I figured what the hell I will buy one and see if the flashers work. Low and behold now my flashers work, turn signals, and brake lights!
