wants some help with my truck!
ok as you migth know i have a 93 dodge 250 with the 5.9 360 MFI...first of all i would like to know what i can do to get performance out of it. i already have 4:10 gears and the 0-60 time is 9sec flat will be high 8 when i get my tranny fixed. but i want to do stuff to the engine and would like to know whats worth it.
second ,after i get done driving my truck where ever i got to go my truck smells like its running hot and the hood is hot but the temp is fine it's in the normal spot that is has been since i got the truck.but every like 2 or 3 months i will add water to the overflow. what should i do thanks for any help

I don't trust the temp gauge... ESPECIALLY if it stays in the same spot.
If the coolant level is right, then if you have a bit of money for a new gasket, I'd take the water pump off and see how ate up it is.
When I changed mine (it had been smelling warm like that too, but the fluids were at right levels) after it started leaking, I was surprised the engine didn't preassure cook itself apart. There wasn't much of an impeller left, and the housing was ate out around it too. I'm sure it wasn't pushing as much water as it should have been.
It might also be your tranny you are smelling too if you're having trouble with that. You should smell hot tranny fluid, or some kind of hot chemical smell anyways
