Default muffler

i want the deep sound of a flowmaster but i don't want to pay the price of a flowmaster. anyone know of a knock-off brand that sounds similar?

was wanting a 40 or 50 series, delete the cat, and put a turn down infront of the rear axel. would this be too loud? i leave for work at 5am and i don't want the whole subdivision pissed at me...

There are plenty of Flowmaster knock-offs. Most sound pretty much the same and will rot off the truck in a couple years.

Check your local Craigslist for a real Flowmaster. I got mine for $20.

i live in the sticks and found a pair of 40 series cheap 2 hours away on cl, but not worth the drive. i'm not sure what knockoff brand would be the best because i don't like the glass pack sound... just looking for a deep tone
thanks

i use to have a flowmaster knock off on my 93 behind a hi flo cat it sounded good but after 1 year it separated inside and started rattling like a b*tch i ripped it off and got a real flowmaster super 44 you can tell its better quality and it does sound way better then the knock off, and about the turn down after the muffler i did the same thing at first (my muffler had dual outlets) it still sounded good but it vibrated alot more in the cab and i was setting off car alarms everywhere lol i would suggest find a real flowmaster and maybe try to kick the pipe out the side in front off the tire (only a couple more feet of pipe)

I've always had good luck with Thrush and Cherrybomb Turbo mufflers. They have a nice deep sound, but not a loud blat. I've got a Thrush glasspack on the truck now, without tailpipe, its loud, but at the same time not too loud. It was only $30 too LOL.
