Tranny Cooling Line Repair Question (from a new guy)
1988 Ram 1500. First and foremost, I'm no mechanic, trying to learn along the way. Just bought it needs a bunch of work. Figured I start with the most obvious. Cooling line is leaking in an area that looks like the line was connected with about 4 inches of black hose. 2 clamps hold the hose to the line. Common practice? Its leaking pretty good. Tighted the clamps, inspected the hose and line no splits. It leaks after adding fluid and when the engine is off. Any ideas. Please and thanks in advance.
Mine is leaking there also. I have tighten them up and still has a leak. It has a drop onit all the time. I am going to get the trans flushed, new gasket, filter, and those hoses replaced. Ialso going to get the neutral safty switch replaced also. Your truck is a 150 not a 1500.

Whoops. 150.
