Default Newbie question:Valve cover gaskets

1988 Ram 150. Need to replace valve cover gaskets. Seems pretty basic. Remove bolts, scrape off old gasket, replace w/ new gaskets, replace bolts. Anything else I should know?

Thanks.

I just got done with that on my 87 D150 and the only problems I had was getting to the back side of the heads to scrape the gaskets, and also I had to loosen the bolts on the brake booster to get the drivers side off. It's a little tedious, but not that bad. Read my post in my garage and find out what happened to me after I got the gaskets changed. Go ahead and check your valvetrain while you got everything "exposed." It might prevent a future headache.
