Default Screwed??

Please keep in mine I am 99.9% sure the answer is I am screwed but I want a fellow Ram owners opinion.

Last weekend I drove my old parts getting truck home after picking up some parts a local had. I parked it in the driveway. Ran inside to grab a cold one then back to the truck. Turn the key... nothing. So after a few minutes of looking under the hood I grabbed my jump box and it started, but idled kinda rough. I though well heck.. let me at least get it out of the driveway before she comes home.... I put it in reverse and **bamm** there was a huge jerk and then the truck died again. I have since not been able to get it restarted even with the jump box or charging the battery overnight. Worse yet... the truck is in park and you can still roll it down the driveway. So here is the stupid question... I think the transmission is gone.. am I right ?? and the old boy just handed me a suicide note?

Ok tell me I am screwed!!
thanks gang

The tranny may be gone or the parking lever may be broken or is not engaging but that does not explain why it won't start. To be sure about the tranny the truck must be running. I have seen trannys that still drive fine with a broken parking lever. You just have to use the parking brake and never never never forget that. LOL

Here is a site. Read "park and neutral" under "Torqueflite in operation".

How is the battery and the terminals? I bought a new battery for my truck and then a few weeks later it would not start. Lights worked but would not turn over. I jumped it and nothing. I bought new termanls and started right up
