Like I always say "I like to learn something new everyday". Interesting link with good info. I wonder where the dodge boys got their info? I do like his signature quote though.

"Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms Should be a Convenience Store, NOT a Government Agency
In Time Of Need, Who Will Come To Liberate The USA?Anyone?
Caution: Government is out of control"

Now I am even more interested in the question I asked nitrousbaby about how many lugs he has.

I have an 8-bolt 9.25. My gvwr is 7500. I can post the build sheet if there is interest in my truck being any strange configuration.

Doesn't 3.23 gears seem high for a 3/4 ton? I know that my truck could use some extra gear/power sometimes when I'm working it pretty hard. And I have 3.91s (Or is it 3.90? 3.92? I'm foggy today).

Do you have a 360?

My 2wd '83 D250 (think my gvwr was about 7400,id have to double check that though) with a 318 and np 435 had a dana 60 sure grip rear end, guessing about 3.55 gears. Couldnt find a tag on the diff though and havnt pulled the cover off yet to check.

Grimm; You don't have to pull the cover to get the gear ratio. Block the front wheels and jack up one rear wheel. Truck in neutral. Put a chalk mark on the bottom of the tire and one on the yoke. Rotate the tire one full revolution while counting the number of revolutions of the yoke. 3.5 revolutions of the yoke = a 3.55 ratio, 3 1/4 revolutions =3.23, 4 1/2 revolutions = 4.56, and so on.

Oh ho ho ho. I got screwed up. I was thinking the OP and v4moto were the same person, and that's why I was shocked at the 3.23 gears. I was thinking it was in the OPs w250.

This has gotten to be a little hard to keep track of.
