Post 1987 D150 intermittent Misfire and cutting out

My 1987 dodge 318 auto ram intermittently cuts out and backfires out exhaust. I have already changed plugs, wires, distributor cap and inline fuel filter. It starts cherry ....reaching through drivers window and idles smooth. At various times during the trip power varies but will eventually start to cut and may or may not stall completely or backfire. It is not running hot and only gets 9 mpg. Wondering if there is a sensor aka poltergist messing with it. Thanks for any ideas.

So when cold it runs fine?
After it warms up is when you have a running issue?
How long does it run till it gives you problems?
Either fuel or spark.
For spark, get a can of freezit or similar product and when it acts up,spray one item at a
time(coil, ignition box, computer, etc),see if one of those are getting hot and breaking down.
With fuel, check for flow when the problem starts.
