1985 Power Ram 250 Prospector 4 Door
440ci Carb'd engine 3 spd auto and manual transfer case
Hood, doors, roof, fenders, bed exterior are all in pretty good shape.
Very little body rust, patchy surface rust in bed. frame has rust, but nothing structurally harming, a good sand blasting or even an acid soak would get rid of 90% or more.
The tailgate latch does not work, fixable, no rigged latches.

The interior is in pretty good shape, could use a cleaning, new floor mat. Dash an in good condition with very few holes or cracks.

New carb, manifolds, tune-up parts.

Anyone who's owned one of these trucks knows theres a flaw in the design with one component, and that's occured. The read of the cab sits about 4 inches lower than the bed. The mounts have ripped the floor sheet metal, but is fixable. I just don't have the time, money, patience or skills to fix the small issues as well as they can be, so I won't try at all.

I'm looking for about $2k for it, BUT That's where you all come in. What's a reasonable asking price, and a reasonable settling price?

By the way, it's lived all it's life in Wyoming, up in the mountains on a ranch, other than the last 6 or so months it's been in Florida.

you would be lucky to get $1000 as is. no one wants to buy an old truck that require alot of work.

I believe the price will be dictated by the market you live in so check around local car sale papers for an appropriate price. I disagree about no one wanting to buy a truck that requires a lot of work as we all see how many people on this forum take on these projects. It will lower the price though.

If the cab wasn't ripped off the frame... $2000 MAYBE but you'd have to sit on it a while.

I'd say as it sits you'd be lucky to get $1000 for it despite the big block swap.

Thanks guys, and I think I was mistaken about the engine size. I think it's a 380? I forget the sizes, I know it's bigger than 318 and was factory installed - says so on the aluminum placarded.

THats it! LOL I went out to look twice and got distracted both times.
It's not my truck, is my brother's, thats why I don't *KNOW* what it is. Anyways, thanks. I guess I'll be telling him to be asking for about $1200, hope for $1000 and expect $800?
