Default HIGH Idle

1989 Ram 150. Whenever I shift from drive to park, the engine idles VERY high, even when I go to put it back in gear its still idleing high. I have found that sometimes when its idling high in park, if I slam my foot on the gas pedal briefly, it goes into a more normal (but still high) idle. Anyone have any Ideas. THANKS! This happens when the truck is a normal operating temp.
