318 tbi 5.2 i was driving home between 45-50 mph gave it a little gas started sputtering real bad and smoking and it died started 30 minutes or so later got about 10-15 ft died again. it's getting gas and fires but wont run. didnt miss out or anything when i got it started told maybe head gasket but i dont think so. i does have an accel coil on it mounted sideways did some research ppl had problems with theres getting hot and malfuctioning. any of you guys/girls had this happen? i had to leave town so i didnt get to check anything out on it after the $75 ride on the back of a rollback lol any help will be deeply appriciated thanks guys

 

Smoking is never a good symptom. If you are sure you are getting fuel and spark I would run a compression test. When was the last time you replaced your fuel filter?

 

i havent but i bypassed it it was real dirty the gas coming out of it was greyish so i kno when i get it running again i need a new 1
