Default 1993 dodge 3/4 ton

I am looking at buying a 1993 dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 cummins 5 spd tranny. My question is I would like to change the srw to drw and make it a 1 ton how hard would it be and what would i have to do.

Thanks SDF

To make it a 1 ton you'd have to change the suspension and axles I believe.

it might be ok to use the 3/4ton axels but i know the 1tons have some sort of double leafsping setup. it has been a long while since i seen a older 1ton. the stock front spings might be ok to leave since it has a cummins. is all the work worth being able to haul an extra 500 pound?

Yes, maybe a little work but I am buying this truck for hauling my 35 ft flatdeck trailer and a load that is 12 - 16,000 lbs . I mostily just want to make the rearend a dually instead of a srw. maybe I should just find a whole new rearend.

Thanks SDF

At least in PA, to change any GVWR, or GCVWR, you need to have your vehicle altered by a professional rebuilder (buses, tow trucks, conversion vans). Otherwise, you'll still only legally have a 3/4 ton, no matter what you do to the truck.
