Default 1984 Dodge Ram stalling

I have a 1984 Dodge Ram with a slant 6/ 225cu in. engine. The truck has always ran great for 10+ years, then all at once it stalled on me like it ran out of gas.
I changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, put a carb kit on the carb, changed the coil, plugs, and even the filter in the fuel tank. Still not running.

It will start and run for hours in the driveway sitting, but when I try to drive it it stalls after a few minutes.
I am thinking it has to be a fuel problem, because I can jump out and prime the carb, and it will run a few minutes and stall again.
If I don't prime the carb, it will not start back.

On the breather cover on the carb, my truck has the Combustion Control Computer ( Autozone say their parts lookup calls it a Spark Control Computer) . I was told it could be that. But the carb does not hook up to anything electronically. So I don't see how the Combustion computer could affect the gas flow?
When I unhook the Combustion Computer, then the truck gets no spark.

So does anyone know what exactly the Combustion Control Computer, (aka Spark Control Computer, or "Lean Burn" Computer).. is for and what it actually controls?

My truck just has the old manual fuel pump on the engine, and just a plain ole 1 barrel carb with no wires going to it.

I've been trying to get this truck running for weeks, and I don't know what else to do.

I almost know it has to be a fuel problem, because it starts back immediately if I prime the carb.

I would greatly appreciate any advise on what to try next.

My truck is a 86, gas 318, my truck stop like it was out of gas. after a few day of checking things out, it seem I have a computer that is for fuel injection, but the engine does not have fuel injection. I will be replaceing the computer and see what goes. What I did fine out was, the computer changes voltage, there are some systems that use less then 12+ volts. That is what I have been told. The alternato was putting out the necessary voltage, the alternator is a rebuilt. I would have to have charger on the battery, then staart the engine, after a few minutes the engine would stop, Alternator was not putting enough into the battery.
Even just putting the head lights on would kill the engine. By the way, my truck is a Royal LE. Have it for 10 years. 137,000 plus miles.

Default Its Fixed

Just thought I would update. All that was wrong was a fuel line had gotten soft coming from the top of the gas tank, and developed a pinch. I dropped the gas tank and replaced the rotted fuel lines, and the truck runs like new again.
