Hey all I own a 1987 Dodge Power Ram W250. I got a V8 360 5.9L with 107,000 miles. It has a flawless body, new paint job, a 4" suspension lift and 35" tires. I bought it a week ago, the guy was hard up for cash. Paid 1450 for it. Got it on the road and it failed emissions inspections. I have a leak in the exhaust manifold and one of my exhaust lines has no catty on it. Before they can even put it on the Dyno I have to fix these things. But it could still fail. That is one of my options. The other is registering it in a different state with out ridiculous emissions testing. I have 12 days, what do I do?

 

pour a bottle of alcohol in a full tank of gas and watch it pass

 

What are the ramifications of that?

 

still won't pass the visual inspection if it doesn't have a cat on it. they don't test for the cat, they just look for one.

 

Get a set of headers from summit for 99$ and buy a hi flow unversial cat.

 

Find a better shop?

 

I just expressed the title home and had my folks register it in Illinois, haha. I'll fix the manifold on my time.
