Default Locked parking breaks.

Like a champ I used the parking brake on a 23 year old truck last week and the cables jammed. I Took off my rear left tire and drum and disconnected the cable. I gave it a good tug but couldn't free it so I just pulled the lever back and it was good. The inside of the drum was soaked with grease though, I think I blew a bearing. The rear left was easier, I just took off the tire and drum and was able to free the cable from there. Also it was clean of grease. What should I do to be able to restore the parking brake to its original luster? I have the annoying parking brake light and I want to fix this issue.

you could probably just disconnect the switch on the e-brake switch.

I assume "original luster" means you want the parking brake to work. Figure out which cables are not moving smoothly and replace them, then change that leaking seal, then replace the oil soaked brake shoes.
