Default HELP! Truck dies at highway speeds!!

My '82 D350 dually has a 360/auto in it and I just replaced the carburetor, plugs, wires, PCV and such. It starts great and idles and drives at slow speeds ok. When I take it out on the highway it sputters a couple times and then dies. I thought the float levels were incorrect on the new Holley 670 I put on it. I checked and they were right on. I'm thinking now it is an electrical issue, so I have a new coil and distributor to install with the new guts. I won't have any time to work on it until the weekend of the 26th-27th, but need it running right sooner just in case because I'm towing with it from California to Texas the following weekend. When I bought the truck it would hardly run, because the original Thermo-quad was badly abused. Any ideas? I don't have much time to trouble-shoot, otherwise I would just figure it out on my own. Any ideas are welcome. I thought maybe bad fuel pump or ECU. Throw me your ideas.

Timing or a weak coil can cause those symptoms.

SEAL, thanks for the ideas. I have a new coil and am putting a new distributor in it for good measure (I think the pickup coil may have gotten burned as the wires don't look good) and setting the timing. I was thinking possibly a fuel pump, but I'll try the two parts I have first.
