Default 1992 Ram radio noise

My radio just emits a loud high pitch sound, nothing recognizable as a broadcast. It is a factory radio. I have a 1990 Acclaim and the radio started doing the same thing after replacing the battery. If I can find out whats wrong with one I believe I can fix both of em'. Any suggestions?

You could try unplugging the radio for about 5 minutes and see if that resets it. Also make sure the ground is good on the battery and the radio. It sounds like you popped a transistor or something in the radio. You would probably be cheaper off replacing them rather than fixing them. A mounting kit and harness will run about $25 and is available from Walmart, Best buy (probably more $$$) or your local stereo shop. Then you can pick whatever radio you want for the cars.
