Default 87 d100 3.7 auto lock up in forward can only go backwards???

that pretty much sums it up.. driving in reverse is fine but you put it in drive and it locks up.. just as if the brake cable was bound up? I havent had time to mess with it just yet still looking for time to take the front and rear wheels off to see if some thing is out of place..
hoping someone has run into this mess before and might save me some trouble shooting.. I have 3 cars needing transmissions and this is just a PITA when i need to haul mulch and stone for the summer days.. hopfully I will get to it before summer ends...
shout me a message or reply if you are familiar with this issue.. thanks Linda

You now have 4 vehicles needing transmissions. Sorry. Sounds to me like the front clutch is not disengaging. With the front and rear clutches both engaged the tranny is locked up. Here is a good web site that explains tranny operation.

Jack up the rear and check that your back wheels move easily. My truck rear wheel cylinder was stuck on and I did ruin my trans.
