Adjusting doors
When I purchased my 79 D100, I knew I had a lot of rust to repair. Well, good news is I have a new floor board and rocker panel on the driver's side.
Also since purchased the driver's door has been out of alignment, it was too low in the back, so it didn't line up with the striker well.
So, since i had to remove the door to weld in the rocker panel, I'm now ready to remount, but it is still out of alignment. I see how to get to the bolts for the bottom hinge, but the upper hinge bolts are behind the lower dash.
Do I really have to take the freakin dash apart to get to these bolts??

yes you do have to remove the dash unless you are Macyver. you can the loosen the door striker bolt and move it. i had to remove a shim on the passenger side when i re-aligned the door and i adjusted the one on the drivers side after i replaced the pins and bushings. as long as the doors don't drop too much. if you have the door off you should replace the pins and bushings if there was any play in the hinges because it is harder with the doors on the truck.
