air diverter valve?

Question air diverter valve?

i just bought a ;89 d250. shes got alot of work to be done. right now im trying figure out how to fix the line that goes from my air pump to my cat. any sugestions?

well if i totally get rid of it, will it still pass nj inspection? so i guess any input on how to repair and remove will b helpful

How to fix it really depends on where in the line the problem is and what the problem is. A little more explanation is needed for us to help as that line has different parts that are made of different materials.

its broken off from the cat. the rest of the hose is fine. is there any way to just disregard it and put a plug on the diverter where it bolts to the smog pump?

Any muffler shop can repair that if you can't weld. Can you plug it, yes. Should you plug it, depends on if your state has inspections because it will fail even a visual inspection. If you decide to disconnect it you will have to seal the tube that enters the cat.
