Air Idle Speed Motor
Today my truck decided to idle at 2000 rpm. Then it decided on 400. Finally it went back to 2000. So I decided to turn down the bolt that stops how far the throttle closes. Now it sits at about 1200 rpm. But I still want to fix whatever this is. I have a feeling I should start with the air idle speed motor/idle speed control/idle control valve. Not sure what name was given to our particular version of the part.
Does anybody know how to test this? Or if I can just set it back to a normal setting till i fix it?
Thanks.

Out of every driving scenario I can possibly create in my driveway, the valve does not move in or out at all by itself, but when the pressure from the throttle spring is removed from it, it does spring out a little bit, but only 1 or 2 mm. I think I will replace it.
Oh, and the bolt I turned, described on my previous post, was on the valve, not on any other part of the throttle assembly.
