Default Oil Pressure Question

I have a 93 Ram truck with the 5.2 and 158K+ miles.I havent had it very long and have never had a Dodge before. It has a gauge for the oil but it doesnt have numbers just lines, there are 4 lines and the oil pressure is usually about half way between lines 2 and 3 and will sometimes move closer to line 2 after it gets hot and sometimes it is closer to line 3 if it hasnt warmed up very good.

For the most part though,it stays between 2 and 3 when driving 50-60 mph and even at idle.

Is this normal?

That's where my 91 runs at, too. Haven't had the chance to put a regular gauge in it yet. But, I'd say you're OK.

A perfect tight motor would be around 3/4 of the way to the right when warm and driving. At idle it might settle to 1/2 or so.

Just a FYI. I took my guages out of the cluster last week to re-paint the white, sun faded needles back to orange, and replace a bad temp guage. By doing so, I must have inadvertently cleaned the contacts on the circuit board because my ammeter works now and my oil pressure guage reads about a dash to dash and a half higher than it used to. Oh yeah and the $5 temp guage works too
