So I saw a Black box on my left front fender, (89 d100 5.2l) I found out its my PCM. How difficult is it relocate this since I removed the stock air cleaner and all the ducting including the small piece that I assume cools the PCM?

One look at a device that has over 90 wires that come and go to different parts of your truck should send shivers of fear up your spine at the very notion of moving that devices location. If your fear is that you have removed the cooling capability from your computer I believe the installation of a small cooling fan would be a lot easier than moving the computer.

I guess that would require one helluva custom made extension cord!

Honestly I'm very capable of re wiring the entire truck in little more than a weekend. I just wasn't sure if there would be enough slack to move it to a more efficient location.

The black box would be your RWAL (rear wheel anti-lock brake) module.

Where would you move the computer to that would solve the cooling problem and still not expose it to excessive moisture even if you had the slack.

Im not entirely sure where yet. maybe fab. a mount on the firewall. I want as little exposed wire as possible and it just seems to be in a bad place being behind the left headlamp.
