trans swap

Should fit but in later 92 (I think March) the 318 V8 and 6 cylinder changed to multi-port fuel injection from throttle body. The new Magnum engine was offered with 46rh heavy duty trans. The 90 model has light duty 42rh trans. Wikipedia has the story of the Dodge trucks if you want to look it up.

I did a swap from a 92 Ramcharger to my 92 W250 which was OK but what I found was that the Ramcharger torque convertor had a slightly different hole pattern and it was a lock up convertor and my original was not. The odd hole was .060 off which I just enlarged the hole a little to be able to get the screw in. Good luck.

What motors were in those trucks?

Those will only fit one-way. You can get three in, but not the fourth.

It is hard to believe that this thread has gone on this long without the actual identification of both transmissions that are being compared. No one can be certain that either of these transmissions are original equipment in either of these trucks without actual identification of the transmissions in question unless you have owned the vehicles from the showroom floor. Copy down the identification numbers of each transmission and drop by your local dealers parts department and find out the facts. You are talking about an awful lot of work to be assuming anything.
