Default front brake calipers sticking?

i have been working hard to get my 81 on the road and today i got my new tires installed and while removing the front rim i noticed that i was unable to rotate the rotor even with the wheel on. the tires seem to roll OK when i move the truck around and it was towed about 30km to my place on its front wheels. when i took the old front wheels off to have them replaced i could see that the rotors look ok and are not blue so i know the calipers are not seized. i was wonder what i should do? i was thinking about taking the caliper off and trying to push the piston back in but i'm not sure if that would be a good idea or not. i was also thinking about replacing the brake fluid while i was at it.

When my caliper was sticking, I needed to replace the rubber brake line that runs to the caliper. The line was old and would collapse, not allowing the pressure out and keeping the caliper stuck. I also flushed the brake fluid out while at it.

Good advice, Serge. Try pushin the piston back in. You should be able to tell if it's still good, by how hard is to push back. Just remember to "crack" the bleeder first. And a brake flush never hurts.

the piston should move fairly easy, If there's any doubt, I'd just replace it.

The one thing i reccomend is. If that sides bad, the other side isn't far behind. I like to replace things in pairs. If not, you'll find yourself workin on it constantly. If the rubber lines are originals or old. best to do-it all at once. Then you'll know what ya got.

Brakes is one of things that shouldn't be skimped on.

GOOD LUCK!!

Understood. That seems to be the story of my life; A day late and a dollar short.

Have you checked it out yet?
