Question Replacement carburetor for my 79 W200

I need a replacement carburetor for my 79 W200, 360 V8, Carter Thermoquad. Must be California smog compliant. Carter TQ's seem to have dried up and are no longer available. Ideas?

can't you just get your current carb rebuilt? i don't know what is different between California smog compliant Carter Thermo quad and any other carb since if you have to do emission testing you could just lean the carb out to make it pass.

I've heard that certain parts for the TQ's are non existent and that rebuilding it may not be possible. ??

You might check your parts store, Edelbrock used to make a TQ copy that was great. I put one on an 86 d200 360 and it ran very well. Not sure about the Calif compliant though.

Thay still make kits for the TQ. As long as the throttle shafts aren't worn to bad and if nothings cracked should be ok.
Thay do make quadrajets new and I think thier a legal swap. But cost about $400. (You'd have to check for sure the Cali. thing.)

I called Edelbrock today and they said they don't have anything for my application. Fubar.
