a tire that is out of balance could cause it to shake but you would think it would have got better when you rotated your tire.

what else i did notice is,when i had it on jackstands i had it in neutral.
i was trying to turn the rear wheel to adjust the brakes,it was way to hard. was even hard to turn without the wheel or the drums,
what could cause this tightness in the rear??? should turn fairly easy in neutral with the rear off the ground wright?? could some thing in the rear cause this shake/vibration?? what could be tight in the rear?? it makes no noise! if i step on gas hard,it will leave 2 black lines on the road,so the sure grip works. thank you

Have you checked the lube in the rear end? I take it that you have a locking rear end? No...IMO it shouldn't turn that hard.... Something is binding up in the rearend!

Another thought on the viberation.....have you tried to see for any viberation without the tires/wheels on?

no play at the rear yoke @ pinion, had an old 78 d150 years ago,in neutral with the rear off the ground was easy to turn wheels, but it was 8 3/8 rear. are the 9 1/4 rears supposed to be stiffer to turn?? if it is in the rear what could it be ?? how hard would it be to repair??

I would find a different tire shop. Any shop that states a vibration problem is not the tires without spin balancing them is not reputable. This is why I buy my tires where the shop has a free road hazard warranty, free rotation and free spin balance for the life of the tires. You may have a wheel bearing going out and it is starting to freeze up.

well i talked to a reputable gear shop that rebuilds rear and trans.
they told me i eliminated mostly everything, they suggest tire spin balance,if that dont work, ill call them back. they said they would charge 75 for inspection of the rear, pull cover clean out, pull axles, and let me know what is wrong, and go from there. thank you

Aje,

I would recommend using Discount Tires lifetime balance. Cheap and fast plus they are all over Texas esp the SA area. Getting them rotated and balanced on a regular basis is great for a daily driver. Something I would have them check for would be a bent rim. I've had that happen twice over the years. Once on a used aluminum rim and once on a NEW steel rim. Both times the guys at Discount caught it. For my money, I would bet on the balancing being the problem.
