Default Tack n alt ?

1)My tack has 4 wires green, black, red and yellow. Where do the red and yellow wires go? There no paper or labels anywhere on the tack it just says Reactive, i guess its the brand but i cant find anything bout it.

2)How would i wire 2 alts on my 87 d100? I can make my own bracket and find a belt but i want to be sure on how to wire them both up to my batterys.

green to coil negative, black to engine ground, red to ignition switched 12 volts, yellow is probably for dash lighting.

Why would you want 2 alternators? You hook it up the same as the existing alternator. Each alternator needs its own regulator to control it if it is not internally regulated.

If you use one alternator and a battery isolator for dual batteries. This is the way mine is.

Ive installed duel alts on other trucks i just had to make sure cause ive had to do alot of upgrades since ive had my truck. Even before i put music in it i had to redo some grounds under the hood and get a new volt reg. 3 month after i got it i put a amp in and used 0awg for the battery, motor and cab grounds. 2 months later i added 2 more amps and a bat on the back with 0awg to the frame. I just added another bat on back to keep up with my trailer winch when towing and big inverter to run a tablesaw and router and i plan on adding more light on the bed so i can work at night.

do you know which alternator do you currently have because most trucks have a 60-65amp alternator but i know you can get 100-120amp alternators which may get rid of the need to have 2. someone over on dodge talk upgrades theirs with 130amp ford alternator and it only cost him $57 plus his time

i have what ever comes on the 87 318, it cant be much cause from the factory the only thing that uses power other than the lights is the blower on the heater. ive killed 2 alts so far and i only have to pay $30 for band new fatory alts. i just thought another $30 + $7 for a volt reg would be better then ordering a HO alt or sending 1 to be re wound like ive had to do with other peoples alts, i build and install car audio so i know the first thing to go is going to be a fatory rated alt.
