cams gone, cylinder 3 exhaust valve doesnt even open....:-( fun fun well new cam and timing chain it is i guess.

Pull the #3 exhaust rocker and check that push rod first. Maybe you didn't get it in the lifter properly when you reassembled the engine.

i don't see this being too bad of a thing. at least if it is the cam you can replace it with a better than stock cam. i was wanting to install a towing/rv cam in my truck but i think it might be a while before i do. summit has a lot of cam and lifter kits for $110 and up.
