Default Rear dana 60 nightmare *long*

let me tell you a tale of the dana 60 nightmare.when i bought my truck a little over 2 years ago. i went over the entire thing with i fine tooth comb. now the rear had a slight whine when going about 35 then went away when you accelerated. the rear was leaking oil through the wheel bearing seals. so i went ahead and got new seals and wheel bearings also new brake shoes and wheel cylinders the works you know.went ahead and got the master bearing kit with a new pinion and ring gear. made the whine go away. Now i had the local shop do the work for me. because i was real busy at the time and didnt feel like doing it in the backyard.

Now shoot ahead 6 months everythings going good so i thought.driving home from work (about 30 miles) feels like the pass side rear brakes grabbing. when i would come to a stop it would clunk. so im about a mile from the house said screw it make it home and figure it out then. the road to my house has a few curves in it, im going about 40. boom the pass rear brake locks up then lets off. im like ooosh*t. so i pull in the yard, go in have a beer. figure time to take it apart. pull the wheel. put my hand on the hub which is on fire burned myself.pulled the axle and the drum came off easily. what was left of the inner wheel bearing fell apart all over the ground. the bearing was ground to dust and was riding on the hub which was now fried. so got another hub and new bearings put it all back together.

shoot ahead another few months i think i hear the whining coming back.

few months later, defiantly hear the whine coming back.

present day. low and behold the bearing decides to fall apart again.at this point i took it to a specialist in the area, he tells me the rear housing is bent.starving the bearings for oil among other things. so i went on the hunt for a dana 60 housing. which it seems i cant find anywhere within 300 miles of me. so i know the put dana 70 in the d350's and i happen to have a dana 70 from a 84 ford in the back yard. i have no problems cutting and welding the perches for the springs and shocks. im wondering if the ebrake cables and obviously the yoke is different. what do i need to make it work.

can i get a yoke from a dodge dana 70 to work on this rear?
does does the dodge d70 use a different universal than the d60?
anything else i didnt figure on?
much appreciated in any replies, thanks john.
