hi gang, i am swapping my eng & trans from my 88 4x4 to a 84 4x4. i know the 88 has the throttle body carb but im dumping that for a straight carb & edelbrock perfomer intake. my question is the 88 trans has a wire bundle on it with the appropiate plugs on the 88 truck, but the 84 does not have these plugs. so what are they and do i need them for the trans to work? (this is an auto trans) also the front axle on the 84 does not have the funky air operated engager for the axle like the 88 does. does the 84 front axle stay live in 2 wheel drive until u throw the in cab lever to engage the 4x4. the vac tubes for that came from a weird 4 tube plug on top the transfer case. i guess i can just plug it off. any help will be great. thanks.
