so this town im in had a city wide yard sale...i found an edlebrock carb 1407...i had 11 bux on me so i offered it, and well i brought it home.
now i have a 318 in my truck...a 750 is to big right?
it will have a performance intake, has headers+2.5 exaust, msd coil, electric fan..

I'm sure you could always sell or trade it to get something around 550 or so. Being a TBI guy, I don't have the luxury of easily changing my flow numbers, but I think 500-600 for a 4 barrel is where you would want to be.
i would also agree that the 600 carb would be the best choice for the 318. i always ran a 600 holley on my older 318's. never had any issues with power, torque even mpg was not bad, unless your on it hard.
