Default $11 750 edelbrock

so this town im in had a city wide yard sale...i found an edlebrock carb 1407...i had 11 bux on me so i offered it, and well i brought it home.

now i have a 318 in my truck...a 750 is to big right?

it will have a performance intake, has headers+2.5 exaust,msd coil, electric fan..

can i jet this carb down? or anything like that..i havnt put it on yet either

I'm sure you could always sell or trade it to get something around 550 or so. Being a TBI guy, I don't have the luxury of easily changing my flow numbers, but I think 500-600 for a 4 barrel is where you would want to be.

i would also agree that the 600 carb would be the best choice for the 318. i always ran a 600 holley on my older 318's. never had any issues with power,torque even mpg was not bad,unless your on it hard.

A 650 is the highest CFM recommended for the 318 that doesn't have huge modifications. Anything larger will cause a reduced airflow velocity and screw up the air to fuel ratio.
