Post how to fix idle?

i jus replaced the plenum plate gasket from it being blown out and before it had a very high idle and now when i am giving it gas and let off quickly the motor stalls out and i know that it has an idle air control motor but i dont know how to set it so that it opens up more to bring the idle up more.

thanks,
cam

i would maybe try take out the idle air control valveand clean it with carb cleaner, when done leave it out and plug in the wire to it then have someone turn the key forward but not to start and see if the spring/valve part moves.if after this still the same it could be faulty.
a vac. leak will also cause high idle.something else to check for. good luck

Have you checked the timing? Could someone have changed the timing to try to compensate for the failing plenum gasket and it needs reset now?
