Default leaf spring sliders

Has anyone switched the leaf spring shackles out for sliders?

I've looked into it, as they allow for pretty good articulation and stability compares to shackles, but from what I understand they are not very good for a longevity stand point cause you got bearings to worry about. Also dirt rocks and crap get up in the track which can bind up suspension

Do you think the binding due to dirt is more of an issue for trucks that are used offroad a lot. There are a lot of people that have switched to them on an A-bodies forum that haven't experienced the binding problem.

I can think of much better upgrades than sliders for my truck since I do not and never will race it.

Its not necessarily a race only mod from my understanding. It is supposed to reduce some friction giving you a better ride.

I didn't say it was race only but that is where they say the derive the best aspects of it. It transmits more vibration into the frame than a shackle set up does. Which results in higher cab noise. The slider set up is used mostly where they don't worry about vibration and noise. (18 wheelers, dump trucks, heavy trailers, race cars)
