Default I have an 87 dodge w250

I have recently aquired this truck for the winter for 700 or so but I dont know much about mopar however i do know the 360 engine has a combination of a edelbrock 2176 performer manifold with a motorcraft 4350 spreadbore carb on it and i cant seem to get it to idle right or accelerate without it stalling out. I have decided to pull the carb but should i rebuild it or look for an better setup such as a holly or edelbrock carb?

Thanks joe

I just happen to have two thermoquads and two rebuild kits for them setting in the garage and I have no emotional attachments to them.
