Question Chevy Carb on my dodge truck?? y?

Recently got an older dodge 4dr 8ft bed 2wheel drive. My friend said i should get it cus i was looking for a truck. when my other friend who is a mechanic opened the hood to check the motor He asked me if i knew what Carburetor was on it. I told Him idk stock? He looked at me weird and told me it was stock but it had some special named Chevy Carburetor on it. I know everything on this truck is stock. But can anyone tell me what the carb is? y it is on it? and if it can be changed over to Mopar Carb? the truck ran great when i got it and now its not wanting to start and sometimes won't stay running. Plz help me out?

Need more information than that to even begin to help. What year, what engine...a picture of the carb would help...there really is no such thing as a "chevy" carb...many manufacturers used the same carb just configured differently. There are exceptions but we need more info to help you.

dodge did start to put the rochester q-jet on their 360's and special 318's in about 85 untill 88 then they went to throttle body injection.
yours must be in these years if it is stock. good luck

The general consensus is that the quadrajet is worth keeping. Nice mpg out of it, or so I've heard. Like aje said, its probably stock, and it sounds like you need to narrow things down a bit before you toss the carb.

Talking Thanks everyone problem solved. you were all right!!

Thank you everyone
Late last night my 2 friends found the same carb a rebuild kit a newer Intake and headers lol. It a Mopar garage we have all the older stuff and some new. they put the same carb but newer on my 360 with the intake and headers. they said i have to redo the old carb for a backup but not to worry about a thing. they changed everything because quote " The Intake was ugly compared to the rest of the motor and it sound like a real Dodge now." so they hooked me up. its an 85 360 n it was a quad jet. so thank you all for everything. sounds great runs better then ever. they spent some time doing some work on it to make it a "Dodge!" quote..

ive had very bad luck with headers...my truck is kinda mild...i went back to manifolds with 2.5 inch exaust an it responeded an took off a whole lot better...and no annoying leaks
