Have you reset the codes since you checked the timing? Now that you have a t-stat in it: Reset the codes take it for a drive to get it warmed up...then recheck\set the timing per the FSM\label at 10 degrees, reconnect the cts and reset the codes....drive it a while then see which codes come back and how it runs.

I just read back through and didn't see where you had listed the codes you were seeing other than the one for the lock-up...what codes did you have?

I was getting codes 22 and 41. since nothing seems to work i went back through the wiring harness's double checking for broken or disconnected wires found a vaccuum line that runs from the brake booster to some kind of amplifier to the speed control that was unhooked also tightened the hold down bolt for the computer a couple turns it seemed a little loose. I unhooked the battery cleaned all the terminals checked for corrosion in the wiring there which also reset the codes. Then took the truck back out for a test drive. I live on one of the highest hills in the area so if I go anywhere I have to pull big hills to get back home. So whatever i did seemed to help the truck ran beautiful until the last hill home. it's not stalling now only popping through the tbi and spark knocking like crazy just before it pops. Came home let it cool down then took it out again. same thing. Truck runs great has all kinds of power until it gets warm. On flat ground it runs great. It only gives me trouble when I slow down to turn a corner or when the trans shifts down pulling the hill. I'm begining to think this is more a timing issue than anything else. going to recheck today. at least it's running better than it was so i'm getting closer to getting this thing figured out. Thanks to evryone for the help and advice. forgot to mention the truck isn't reading any codes after i reset them other than 37 which is the torque converter lockup

You might want to try temporarily disconnecting the vacuum line to the EGR when cold and see if the problem goes away. It may be sticking open when it warms up.

Where did you find the fuel sending unit. Can't find one anywhere.
