lol. thanks SEAL. i was not going to be too picky about the 46RH as long as it came with the torque converter and was out of a vehicle with a 318. i guess when i start looking i will find one that is out of a 96 or newer.

No love for the NV4500? I've been commuting in a little 4cyl 5 speed ranger. I hate everything about the truck except the gas mileage and the fact that it is a stick. If I could magically turn my 727 into a 5 speed, I'd be all over it. Since I can't, the transformation would involve money, skill, effort, and time, none of which I have any to spare!

if a NV4500 and all the parts required to use it was just as cheap and easily found as an auto then i might consider dropping one in. the closet person i can find selling one is about 150km away and the cheapest on is asking $700. i am pretty sure i can get a 46rh for about half that and only have to drive 20km.
