Default Left turn signal won't cancel.

My left turn signal won't cancel anymore. It happened the same day I put on a new trailer plug (spliced old wiring to new pigtail). My marker lights and left turn signal are backwards. The yellow and brown wires were about the same color, and I must have gotten them wrong. Could that cause my turn signal not to cancel? Its happening unplugged, and plugged it. I've experienced no other gremlins. Could it be a short or something I caused? If not, how complex is it to replace the canceller? Oh, when I make a right turn, you can still hear it "clicking" as I turn the column, and when it cancels. With a left turn, there is not even a hint of anything clicking or touching.

so you are saying your turn signal lever is sticking and not releasing when you turn the opposite way?

Yes. When i turn right, everything is normal. When I turn left, my turn signal stays on into and through the turn. I have to turn it off myself.

if it is staying on then the turn signal cam might be broken. there is 2 option. you could replace the whole switch or just the turn signal cam. both options will require removal of the steering wheel and taking apart a bit of the steering column. replacing just the cam would be a lot cheaper but may take a bit more effort to fix.
