Default popping sounds?

I have an edelbrock 4 barrel Carb on a 318, Dodge ram d100, and when I accelerate it makes popping sounds, and doesn't run so well, any ideas?

Check the ignition timing. How old are the plug wires, plugs, cap, and rotor?

A bad cap can cause this so it needs to be checked for carbon tracking or cracks. Moisture in the distributor is possible.

Check and see how clso together the plug wires are. I once had a nasty situation were i was getting heavy crossfire from poorly routed wires.

Wait for dark and start your truck. Look at the wires for arcing.
