Default 90 B150 Transmission

I have a 1990 B150 Van with only 71000 on it. I had a Cooling line blow on the interstate and it took out 3rd gear.
My question is, I have a 96 with a 32RH trans, Is there any way I can use the 32RH in place of the 999 trans that's in there? What would I have to do to the Electronics.
Thank You
Bob

Yes it's a 3 speed./ Factory service manual says 32RH. I know I have to change the shift linkage but am wondering about the electronics.

if the 96 does have a a 32 rh then it should not have any electronics that the 90 does not.
