I would look very closely at the grounds for the light that doesn't work properly. Bad grounds can cause all kinds of problems that will drive you nuts.
on my trucks i just cut the old light sockets off. turned the lights on one by one and test for voltage with a voltage meter. if you can you should just buy new light sockets. i bought some new ones for my truck for about $4 each. you could have all new light sockets for about $24. just make sure to grease everything and they should last.
i did buy new parking lamp sockets at 7.00 but there was no instructions with it and it does not seem to being working they way it should I am wondering if the wiring on the turning signals is different from the round on the 1985 to the square which mine are on the 1987 models.. and is this causing me the issue with lights not working
