Default cam help

im about to pull the engine out of my truck and do a complete rebuild with a kit from summit and might throw in a cam as well but i cant decide what cam would be good for low end and mid range torque but i dont want to get too wild of lift and lose mpg's.

if it was my engine i would stick a towing or rv cam. both usually have the same specs. great for giving you the torque you need to get going but will give you decent gas mileage while running down the hiway.

a buddy of mine recomended a kit from comp cams that includes the cam, and everything but pushrods and rocker arms i think the part number is K20-223-3 for like 350 bucks and the cam has .470 lift intake and .480 lift exhaust

i think the Basic Operating RPM Range of that cam almost seems a bit high for a truck. i may be wrong since i don't know too much about cams but 1,600-5,800 seems high.

If I was going to get a cam I would contact the manufacturer, tell them what I had, what I want and see what they recommend.
